Surprising Lean and Green Myths Busted

People are often intimidated by the idea of a Lean and Green lifestyle.  Over and over again I hear from Take Shape for Life Health Coaches (Optavia Health Coaches) that their clients and potential clients complain of these top lean and green recipe myths.  Here’s what you need to know to BUST these excuses and break through to an easy and simple Lean and Green lifestyle.

MYTH #1-  THIS IS JUST ANOTHER DIET

Lean and Green living is not a diet, it is actually a simple, healthy way of life that includes whole, fresh and delicious foods.  It doesn’t get any more simple, or back to basics than that.  It’s not a fad, it’s a way to simply nourish your body, deliciously.  Lean and green recipes partner beautifully with a low-carb diet (like Medifast, Optavia or Take Shape for Life as well as many others) because they are full of lean proteins and low-glycemic (low sugar) vegetables.  This combination helps you stay on program and reach your goals with a smile on your face.  You’ll LOVE what you’re eating!

More than that, you’ll be able to transition off your diet program with ease because you’ll have learned how to eat for the rest of your life.  Think it’s hard?  Think again!  Read on.

MYTH #2- IT’S HARD TO DO / COMPLICATED

Lean and green recipes and lean and green living is not at ALL complicated or difficult to do.  It’s actually much easier (as many of us have found) because it’s simple ingredients that are simply prepared and taste, well, simply awesome!  Once you learn the basics, you’ll need only 15 minutes a week to make your grocery list.  You’ll save tons of time, tons of money and tons of stress because you’ll have created a streamlined system that allows you to cook great food, fast and easy. But don’t think for one minute that simple means boring!

MYTH #3- THE FOOD IS BORING

If you think that Lean and Green eating is boring, THINK AGAIN!  I promise you, there is so much out there beyond chicken and salad, or beef and broccoli.  There is a WHOLE world of flavor at your fingertips- and I have it for you!  The entire reason I became the Queen of Lean and Green is because I had 100 pounds to lose and I didn’t want to stare down another piece of chicken breast again.  I discovered that FLAVOR is the key- but it had to be made easy.  Want to know more?  Check out the story here.

MYTH #4- IT’S TOO EXPENSIVE

With the soaring cost of food these days, it’s easy to believe that sticking with a Lean and Green lifestyle is is expensive.  The truth is, with smart shopping, it does not have to be expensive at all.  Whether you’re cooking for just yourself or a family, you can follow these great tips for keeping on a budget and staying there for the long haul.  You don’t have to compromise either!  By taking 15 minutes (see myth #2) to plan your meals for the week, creating a grocery list and sticking to it, you can save thousands of dollars per year on groceries.  Be smart and plan ahead to save.

MYTH #5- IT’S NOT FOR EVERYONE

Let’s face it, as a nation, we are getting more and more heavy and unhealthy as a result.  The truth of the matter is, whether we are on program or not, Lean and Green eating is for EVERYONE.  As a single mom of two teenagers, I learned long ago that I did not have the time to make one meal for them and one meal for me.  I cooked one meal for us all, and it just so happened to be Lean and Green.  As a result of all my trial and error, the Stacey Hawkins flavorful product line grew and grew and the recipes and cookbooks along with them.  I wanted meals that everyone loved and that they wanted to eat.  I wanted meals that I was going to be proud to serve.  I got all that and more.  In the end, we ALL benefitted, and I felt AMAZING not only because I was staying on program, but because I was proud to serve meals that were healthy and delicious.  It was win-win for everyone.

Lean and Green recipes and Lean and Green living are an easy, wonderful way of life for everyone.  The food is delicious, it’s simple and it’s easy to make.  The benefits of feeding yourself (and those you love) whole, fresh and nutritious foods outweigh the cost of spending 15 minutes a week preparing.  Once you adopt the Lean and Green lifestyle, you’ll soon reap the rewards.
