WE LOVE BACON. It's really that simple. For those of us on the Optavia 5 &1 diet, following another version of the Optavia diet or looking for Lean and Green recipes, only turkey bacon is allowed. Let's face it, turkey bacon is not quite as flavorful as the real thing and can leave us feeling disappointed.
Never Fear! The answer is to actually put a little flavor BACK into that turkey bacon by sprinkling with some delicious seasoning and then actually baking it instead of frying it to preserve some of the moisture and texture. So yes, you CAN have bacon on Optavia and it can be AMAZING! How is it counted? See the notes at the end of the recipe.
Enjoy!
