Ingredients
-
1 T Valencia Orange Oil (or nonstick cooking spray)
-
1 ½ pounds ground beef 90/10*
-
1 red bell pepper, sliced thin
-
1 sweet onion, sliced thin
-
1 T Tasty Thai Seasoning
-
1 T Garlic & Spring Onion Seasoning
-
1 C basil (green or purple) divided
-
fresh cilantro (optional)
BEEF SAUCE
-
3 T low sodium soy sauce
-
2 T fresh lime juice
-
1 T brown sugar (or sugar substitute)
-
1 T chili paste or a pinch of red pepper flakes for a little heat if desired
Directions
In a small bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients for the sauce. Note that the addition of the chili is optional. Set aside.
Heat oil in a large skillet (or use spray and a nonstick pan if cutting calories). Add the beef and sprinkle with Garlic & Spring Onion as well as the Tasty Thai seasoning. Cook until slightly browned breaking up the large chunks as you’re cooking. This will take about 6 minutes.
Add the pepper and onion and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until the veggies are softened.
Whisk the sauce once more and then pour over the beef. Add most of the fresh basil to the pan and stir it in (reserve a few leaves for garnish.) Cook just until the basil starts to wilt. About a minute.
Serve over rice, cauliflower rice or noodles topped with some fresh cilantro and basil leaves. Enjoy!
