These are the Good Old Days

Ever have one of those days where the sun’s shining so brightly, you just have to stop everything and bask in its glory?

Well, that was me yesterday. Picture this👆: me in full snow gear, cocktail in hand, lounging outside in a crisp 38°, soaking up every ounce of that glorious sunshine, red nose and all.

Was it a little crazy?

Sure. But it was my own little slice of après-ski heaven—no lift lines needed, just the peace of my backyard with the signs of Spring coming (yes, even the mud was beautiful!) and a chance for 15 minutes to help my body make some Vitamin D. (See, there's a potential health benefit in EVERYTHING! 🤣)

It got me thinking about how we've all become so programmed to rush through life, always on "go mode," ticking off tasks, and running around. And it's getting worse, not better- even shopping for something as simple as  eggs has become a competitive sport.

Sometimes, in all that hustle, we simply forget to live in the now—those good old days we’ll talk about years from now. Days just like today. Moments just like this one where you took a few minutes to sit down and read this...

I want to remind you that JOY is everything- and it's more readily available than you may think- you just have to remember to look for it.

So, inspired by my sunny, chill-forward escapade, I felt it important to share with you three simple ways to find joy every single day, no matter how busy we get:

1. Take a "Joy Break"
Just like I did with my impromptu sunshine cocktail hour, find a small moment each day to do something that brings you sheer joy. It doesn’t have to be big or planned. Dance to your favorite song, step outside to feel the wind on your face, or just take a hot minute to sip your coffee in peace. These moments can recharge your spirit and remind you that there's beauty in the everyday.

2. Savor the Silly
Life doesn’t always have to be so serious. Smile at the squirrels playing tag in your yard, or the goofy grin of your dog dreaming. Embrace those little giggles; sometimes they’re the big memories in disguise. Laugh at your own missteps too—it’s a great way to keep your spirits high and your heart light.

3. Send Out Some Love
Joy multiplies when shared. Send a quick text to tell someone you’re thinking about them, compliment a stranger, or write a thank-you note. Small gestures can light up your day as much as theirs. In a world that often prioritizes productivity over kindness, be the person who makes others feel seen and appreciated.

And remember, as Eckhart Tolle teaches us, “Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.” Let’s make the most of our moments, not just as placeholders until the next big thing, but as the precious, irreplaceable times of our lives.

So, grab your metaphorical cocktail in the sunshine—or the snow!—and let’s make today ridiculously amazing. Because, my friends, these really are the good old days.

Let's enjoy more joy, less hustle, and living in the now!

To your flavorful life-
